چکیده

ABSTRACT
Human life has witnessed violent and bloody wars and battles between peoples and ethnic groups throughout history. The ancient era was a period of brutal wars, in which prisoners of war and a number of defenseless civilians were killed, and the prevailing rule was to resort to force. With the emergence of heavenly religions, especially Islam, in addition to recommending peace and avoiding war and killing, except in cases where war is inevitable, efforts were made to organize battles and limit their destructive effects on military personnel and civilians. At the same time, the role of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali, peace be upon him, in observing human rights in wars cannot be denied. Through his expression of his opinions and behavior, Practical, it had a great impact in expanding the protective covers for women and children in wars, and in the contemporary era and after the First and Second World Wars, the efforts of the international community in predicting solutions to protect human rights in armed conflicts increased, and despite that - and through comparing the ideas of the Commander of the Faithful and his practical path with international agreements, especially the four Geneva Conventions and their protocols - the dimensions and angles of these two positions reveal the brilliance of the position and views of Imam Ali, peace be upon him, regarding respecting the human rights of oppressed groups.
